What is the error?

the error at first says that it is not finding the .s3db file in the assets
The strange thing is that in debug it works

The .s3db file is something you've added, right? I don't (yet) see how it's related to this package, so you open assets with sqlite3 directly, does the file exist?

Are you sure you're including the necessary .dll files even in the release build? I had a similar problem and the missing files ended up being the solution.
You might want to create a release build outputting any errors, so you can easily go and address them.
