Hi Curtis

Thanks for getting in touch.

I'm unable to replicate the issue at the moment. Is this happening regardless of the widget you open?

Here is a video of me doing it. That SiteOrigin editor widget is simply the converted sample text that was on the page when I made it a SiteOrigin item.

Now to make it more difficult. I tested with a bunch of different widgets after deleting the first one and none of the other ones had the issue as described.

Then I added a SiteOrigin Editor widget again...and now it doesn't happen despite clearly seeing it happening in the video above. Maybe it is some interaction with the converted widget then? Thinking about the issue we have with our client sites (as linked in my other issue above) we would have lots of widgets that were "legacy" (meaning around during 5.6.1 when there was the issue with the classic editor from #846). Could it be that some of those are still having some edge case that is interacting with the code in a funny way?

Hi Curtis,

I'm having trouble replicating this issue using the suggested method. The Classic Editor to Page Builder conversion doesn't result in a functionality different result than adding an Editor widget with some content to a pre-existing page as there's nothing directly identifying behind the scenes or anything like that. The only possible reason I could think of this happening is maybe the internal widget id (which isn't static) is for whatever reason being updated. This shouldn't happen, and it's unclear why it would happen, but if it technically did update, it may trigger this prompt without a direct edit.

Do you still have the Page Builder powered Sample page in your gif? If so, can you please export the layout, and then open the editor widget and export it again? This will allow me to compare the Page Builder data. You can export a page by opening the page in the editor and clicking the Layouts button in the Page Builder toolbar. Click Import/Export on the left and click Download Layout. Please upload the layout to somewhere like GitHub Gist and reply with a link.

Regarding the PB issue you linked, it hasn't really come up in a while due to WordPress resolving the underlying cause of that issue - which version that was done in I can't recall. I don't think it's related to a WordPress specific issue as those typically generate a very large number of reports.

Kind regards,
Alex
