We have the exact same question. Is there a way to specify multi-line code that will stay in the center column.
Is is possible to change the logic of single backtick code?
Anyone has a solution for this?

I think that this is probably best if people custom-implement their own solutions to this by editing the CSS, since it's not really the intended organization suggested by Slate, so I'm going to close.
If people are looking at this in the future, it can probably be hacked together by editing pre
styles in screen.css.scss
.

Although it could be hacked but I guess it is important to provide an integrated hack that enables one to:
write some `code` || `pseudocode` in the center column !

I'd like to see this as well for pseudocode.
