Thank you, I'll check it out - when I first wrote the Koans I was using Node, but hardly anyone was so I thought it was easier to just use a browser runner. Now most of the JS community including front-end peeps are all using Node, it seems like a good time to update the Koans!

I haven't got as far as looking at the code, the first thing that I notice is that you have replaced the Creative Commons license with your own copyright and a different (MIT) license - this is specifically prohibited under the terms of the CC license, and I would respectfully ask that you return the license of your derivative work to its original license.

Please understand that the reason that I (and others) use CC or GPL licenses such as these is not to restrict people's innovation and creativity, but to ensure that our work remains free and available to everyone in perpetuity.

Sincerely,

@sleepyfox

Re: license, it was not my intent to change the license. My apologies. Looking at the bottom of https://github.com/sleepyfox/coffeescript-koans it appears to be licensed under MIT, not CC. Where is the reference to the CC license?

That is a note in the README document, sadly out of date and confusing. The
license can be found in the LICENSE file, as stated in the README. I'm
guessing you looked at the README and never actually looked at the LICENSE
file.

As you can see from the commit history, the LICENSE file was there in the
initial commit and has remained unaltered.

I'm in the process of updating the koans to run server side with Node using
Mocha, probably for general release in the next day or two.

Yep. That's confusing. Happy to put it back.

But if you're switching to a node runner then my work is irrelevant. Feel
free to pull my changes back in if you like.

Would you mind letting me know when you've made that update?

Reverted to CC license and explicitly credited Nigel as original author in README: https://github.com/goodeggs/coffeescript-koans/blob/master/LICENSE

The new (Node) version has just been pushed.

Cool.

I assume you're up for receiving pull requests for more koans. The obvious
missing ones are:

=> operator
string interpolation
existential (?) operator
