This same issue can occur when changing the year. For example, if you are viewing February 29th, 2024, and you select 2023, you will navigate to March 1st, 2023 instead of February 28th, 2023.
One could argue that this behavior makes sense, and I agree for the Date constructor. However, a typical user most likely intends to navigate to the month they select.
