It's the intended behaviour.
See bf27bc1 and 937f365. When OMZ can't find one of the keys used later for the mapping it doesn't try to rebind anything and gives you a warning about that.
This behaviour avoid problems with the binding such as a half done binding.

On the other hand I don't get this message with either tmux or screen. This code is based on terminfo, so unless your terminfo has been modified or you don't use a screen
TERM, it should work.
from prezto.
Weird, tmux has screen
as TERM, while screen has screen-bce
as TERM, on what system does it work for you? (and ncurses version)
Could the warning be changed to include the missing keyinfo name too?
from prezto.
You have tell TMUX what TERM to use. It should use xterm-256color-bce
.

It works for me with screen
(the default value if you don't force tmux). On Mac OSX 10.7.3 and with ncurses 5.5 or 5.7 I don't know

It's probably BackTab that's failing in his case.

Yeah, had to force it to screen.rxvt
in the screenrc.

I get this message with zsh 4.3.17 on osx 10.7.3. in Terminal.app. I do not use screen nor tmux. $TERM is xterm-color
from prezto.
Set the term to xterm-256color.
