Unfortunately the COOK-3900 branch is not quite ready to be released. We've found it works for us in our environment, but we are currently expanding test coverage and making sure it works on other platforms.

In the meantime, you can always check it out directly from git by adding it in to your berksfile.

the problem is that my community cookbook wants to support 14.04
and when depending on a branch that is not versioned the problem can be that you upgrade your metadata version and all hell breaks loose.

but okay if it can't be done than it can't be done

The other thing you could do is fork the cookbook for the time being so you know what you are getting.

We are working hard to get everything merged in to master though.
