Which electrum server? Roughly how many used addresses in the wallet?
Electrs has issues with large (many used addresses) wallets, as it effectively becomes unresponsive at 100% CPU. That said, the upcoming Sparrow release has many improvements specifically aimed at making usage on Electrs more robust.

Using electrs with not a lot of txs... brand new wallet for testing.
Would be great to have a "Refresh" button to force check of the blockchain/mempool when stuck.

It's now possible to trigger a full refresh of the wallet by going to Settings, clicking the Advanced... button at the bottom, and changing the birth date (any change will do).
Technically it shouldn't be necessary to do this, and I'm hoping that electrs will soon perform better which should obviate this need in future.

Simplified wallet refresh functionality was added in v1.1.0 (View > Refresh in the menu). Closing this off as I think the original issue has been addressed (slow Electrum servers aside!)
