We are also hoping to use a custom label. This file is the basic format we would need. One of the labels has 4 extra lines of blank space at the bottom and the other does not. Both styles are important for us. Not sure what TW is capable of just yet, but wanted to add to the topic since it was open.

Drawer labels: 32 mm H, 74 mm W (3mm wide internal border where no text should go around whole label)
Unit tray header labels: 38 mm H, 74 mm W (8 mm H, 74mm W lower border where no text should go)
Type unit tray header labels: 38 mm H, 38 mm W (8 mm H, 38mm W lower border where no text should go)

Vial rack labels: 45mm H, 19mm W (no border) - two formats possible, with text horizontal or vertical
Slide box labels: 9mm H, 60-120mm W (no border), width depends on text

@tmcelrath If you can get me CSS style sheets with these numbers (maybe @jlpereira can help) we can load these into the label types.

@mjy @jlpereira I don't have a lot of experience making CSS style sheets. I don't think most collection managers or curators will either. Is this something we can make more user-friendly for me/them?

I could help you with writing the CSS style if you show me how the label should look and the size of the fonts

vialrack_labels_1_INHS.pdf
Vial rack labels: 45mm H, 19mm W (no border) - two formats possible, with text horizontal or vertical
Higher taxon (usually Order or Class) in ALL-CAPS, with genus and specific epithet italicized (if possible).
Size of TaxonCode and Rack# 12 pt always.
In text horizontal version, 12 pt size always
In text vertical version, size of higher taxon should start at 12 pt, but shrink if needed to fit on label (see problems with cut-off text in example file). Species should 16 pt, and also shrink if needed to fit on label.

So these are all my best guesses from the labels we usually print from Filemaker or MS Access. If you can get something loaded, I can adjust if needed.
