Despite being more concise than the standard macros, these are not strictly speaking anaphoric macros; you are not using the symbol it for creating fresh bindings within the loops. A heuristic for whether such macros are anaphoric is whether the symbol it appears in the calling code outside the &body block; in the macros you suggested, it's only used for concision of the forms outside the loop bodies.

I agree, it seems an anaphoric do would be one that had 'it' for the loop body -- or possibly that plus your proposed macro here. So closing for now.
