You have a version of lafd that doesn't have the COPY opcode. If you can, flash the oldest version available for your device. It definitely exists in all MM lafd, however LG removed it in later versions of N lafd (but older versions have it), and all versions of O and P.

Thanks for the info, that explains it. And interesting, especially since it is a H815 with MM and I bricked it before I got that far to install a more recent version (fastbooted into twrp and then twrp crashed during the wipe of everything and before I installed twrp into the recovery partition - my fault, wrong order to do things... - with the crash in the middle of things it now doesn't boot anymore).
So unless I manage to get writes somehow working, my only chance is now to install an older lafd using the Qualcomm 9008.
