You can't make an advanced social network by clean looking code. As features increase, code becomes more crowded. As for the framework, you (I, we) need to rewrite the entire code which is a big job. The current code is perfect as is but not entirely perfect. With native code, you can make as much as changes as you can. With a framework, you don't have entire control and understanding over the code. In short words, I'm pretty busy with school and shifting to a framework is a huge workload.
But still, it's not a bad idea. The problem is frameworks are not great for a social network in my opinion.

Yes, you can .. Check out the code of Silver Face , is in a private repo
but will send you snippets later and taking a month to rewrite code more
easily with around hundereds of lines reduced , advanced routing , and
beautiful code is much easier than finding a bug in dirty code later on...

Open uses lots of vague function names and Variable names , is improperly
routed and the indenting is less than satisfactory .

I need docs to go through your code , but with the use of best practices
and a nice framework , I wouldn't need docs at all.

As to your school work , I would happily contribute over 1 hr a day to
Developing Open , but only the backend, I'm pretty terrible with CSS. and
do you use any frontend frameworks?
960.gs and bootstrap would make your life easier.

Believe me , I know.

Check out Laravel or Symfony but I still prefer Laravel , and do you have
any developer docs on the Open Code ? or even a mail explaining to me the
project structue and how it works? You may tell me to read the source , but
this is much easier ,for you and for me.

I just recently started developing for Open Source Projects and don't even
have Git or Ubuntu installed now because of a recent format of my system ...

Open can be better ,Open can be great . But at the moment , IT is

INEFFICIENT, CHILDISH and VERY ANANDU'ISH.

As to my reference to Anandu , here is an image of some of his javaScript.

Is this how you want your code to be ?

I created Open on a hurry. Documentation is not perfect, but you can see some info http://open.subinsb.com/blog/docs Yes, I think a rewrite of the core of Open is necessary. But, using a framework is just overkill. I want code and features to be on it's own and not that of a framework's.

Maybe, I'll create a special framework for Open itself for more control. I can say this for sure thing : Open will be rewritten completely for neatness and easable reading of code.

Dear subin , check out laravel php and then send me a mail. Creating a
framework ia whats overkill not using one. What ia your code editor , you
use its featurea,ur os,ur computer. Theyre all tools just like a framework

i still recommend writing a framework especially for open because it will only contain the required code rather than unwanted functions And Check silverface repo

subins2000 avatar subins2000 commented on July 20, 2024

@nsnihalsahu-code yes, exactly what Anandu just said. Why need unwanted functions ? A custom framework is better. Custom framework means we can improve the framework on our own.

Then don't recreate a framework , just modify the laravel framework , and
also , during development of the framework , we may need a lot of the
convenience functions offered by laravel such as dd() or e()

@nsnihalsahu-code Yes, it takes more time to edit a framework than creating a new framework
