@mattyza I think you don't have installed the base16 color schemes (you can use the package manager for that), the tabs are supposed to be rectangles with this theme. Hope it helps :)

You seem to have default theme selected.

Did you apply the theme?

You need to put this into Sublime Text > Preferences > Settings - User:
