BTW if you pull animation from rawgit https://rawgit.com/ngokevin/aframe-animation-component/master/dist/aframe-animation-component.js you will get an older version containing anime.js 1.1.0 (the current version on github https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ngokevin/kframe/master/components/animation/dist/aframe-animation-component.js has anime.js 1.1.1).
The older version does not have this error; the current version has.

Seems to work now document.querySelector('a-cylinder').removeAttribute('animation__scale');
