I'm all for choosing OpenGeoTracker, since I'd like to move away from
InstaMapper to
something more open. I'm thinking of working on this issue, but have a few
questions
beforehand;

1) OpenGeoTracker expects GPS coordinates, not "tracks".

I think tracks that already have been recorded could be submitted into
OpenGeoTracker
waypoint-by-waypoint, and that waypoints of the track that is currently being
recorded can be submitted "live" as they are recorded.

How do you see this ?

2) OpenGeoTracker already comes with a client that submits the coordinates.
Should we
write our own client code from scratch or can we perhaps interface with their
client
to submit the data ? Or can we at least reuse some of their code ?

Regarding 1, the issue 10 is about streaming. Uploading direct changes waypoint
by
waypoint to a website. Uploading entire tracks would be another consideration,
for
which OpenGeoTracker may or may not be adequate.

Regarding 2, where streaming in Open GPS Tracker is best done with broadcasts
from
the content provider the gathering of data is different then the OpenGeoTracker
client. To upload that site it would probably be best to use the serverside
interface.
