Unpredictable problem, but I can duplicate it with some success on my XP laptop. Robert's PaintRR loads the same images without incident, so it appears to be a classic case of VB's Picture.AutoRedraw = True causing something to fail with large images.
Will be fixed with my DIB rewrite.

Fixed by e111c2b and ec4c31b and cad7cb1. Large images should no longer be a problem, regardless of the load system used (FreeImage, GDI+, or default VB).
