Hey @fedoranvar! So VGit comes with a feature where diffs can be computed against index or remote. You can set it via settings, or through API functions that I provide.
This was by default set to 'remote', but I feel like that's not how most people would like it so now you should no longer see signs for files or hunks (with the newly added feature) that have been staged.
Regarding the add signs for whole buffer in sign-column for untracked files, I might add it as an option that you can enable via settings. Since there is a bit of computation that needs to be done to check if the file belongs to the gitignored list, I think it's better not to allow it by default unless someone really needs that feature.
I have a bit of free time now and I am actively developing it, so it shouldn't be too long before I add this new feature.

Ended up showing signs on new file as a the default, this can be turned off via settings.

Thank you!
