- ๐ต I am a programmer who uses C/C++ a lot for instrument control and numerical analysis.
- ๐ I am teaching myself CUDA now.
- ๐งฌ I just finished 2 programs ( a CPU version and a GPU version) to predict DNA mechanical unzipping curves (the force to separate the 2 strands of DNA).
- CPU version: A version that doesn't require GPU. I managed to move the computation overhead to compile time. My program is 1000x faster than programs people usually use.
- GPU version: CUDA and my "GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop", 10x faster than my CPU version. Can finish the whole genome of E.Coli in a minute.
- ๐งถ I just finished a trace alignment program for very fast unzipping data analysis. The ultimate goal is to create a high-throughput single-molecule unzipping platform for transcriptome analysis.
- ๐ชข I am currently learning knot theory to see if there is any knot invariant that is easier to compute than the Alexandra polynomial. I hope it can speed up the current Monte Carlo simulation to calculate the torque to braid 2 DNA molecules.
