I created an alternativ Layer-Model (Layer-Model-CM) within the same project in GenMyModel. I did it roughly and skipped details such as concrete attributes. I just wanted to bring my ideas in general. So we can discuss pros and cons of both models.
The application part was OK for me.

I had a look at Layer-Model-CM and i appreciate the separation of data (DataSource-hierarchy) and layout (?) (MapLayer-hierarchy).

As i am currently dealing with shogun2-security-issues, i dont have time for the modeling right now.

Maybe we should define a "strategy" on how we want to work with GenMyModel in the next steps. I think we need something like a "master"-model. New ideas/developments from "branches" (like Layer-Model-CM) should be merged (manually!?) to that master if everybody is happy. Afterwards we can use the master to write concrete Java-models...

I agree @buehner that there should be a "master model". I think it will be neccessary to create this by hand. Maybe @KaiVolland is willing to create this after we discussed the different approaches here.
But first of all we have to converge to a more or less stable consent.
