v1.0 is just released! Could you check if this issue still exists? Please note that the API has changed quite a bit.

I'm not longer using the library (this has gone on so long we have a new website now :))
But I did update my example PoC code above with the new version and it appears the issue has been resolved.

Have you tried using transform: translate(x, y)
instead of margin-left
? This animates the layer instead of the DOM object, is way more performant, and the general solution to this kind of animation.

I'm probably showing my ignorance here, but it seems like the exact same issue occurs when using transform: translate:

<script src="https://apps.vividimpact.com/proofs/vividimpact.com/wp-content/themes/vivid-impact-theme/ScrollTrigger.min.js"></script>
<style>
.visible {
transform: translate(0px, 0px);
animation-duration: 2s;
animation-name: slideAcross;
}
.invisible {
transform: translate(0px, 0px);
}
@keyframes slideAcross {
from {
transform: translate(0px, 0px);
}
to {
transform: translate(2000px, 0px);
}
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div style="height: 3000px; background: red;"></div>
<div data-scroll style="height: 100px; background: blue;"></div>
<div style="height: 3000px; background: green;"></div>
<script>
document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function() {
var trigger = new ScrollTrigger();
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
from scrolltrigger.
Hack fix- You can use the "once" flag to toggle the animation just one time.
Example : toggle(.afterAction, .beforeAction) once"
from scrolltrigger.
Thanks!
