Ctrl-= should now work, at least with standard English keyboards; however, the
shortcut is currently hard-
coded, which is not appropriate in the long term (it may need to be handled
differently depending on the
localization and keyboard layout in use).

Programs can have a really funny behaviour. I use a US English WinXP, and I
found that
1. in Firefox and Adobe Reader the - and = keys (the actual keys on my English
keyboard, not the keys that type these symbols in the various layouts) work in
the
following layouts: EN-US, HU (101 key), RO. But they do not work with a
Norwegian
(NO) layout.
2. in Firefox the keys which actually type - and + work in en, hu, ro, no. In
Adobe
Reader on EN and NO work, but not HU and RO.
I do not understand why is it necessary to use the keys that type - and + with
the
Norwegian layout if the keys which have - and = inscribed on them in the English
layout do work with Hungarian and Romanian layouts. But it is true that English
keyboard are still popular in both Hungary and Romania (in fact they are the
most
common type on keyboard in Romania), while it is almost impossible to find an
English
keyboard in Norway.

This issue pertains to a long-outdated version of TeXworks and Qt. Therefore it will be closed for now. Should the issue persists in the latest version, it can be reopened of course.
