the
line will not give the result that most people expect, I prefer to go the
Unicode
BiDi algorithm way (the first strong BiDi char).
The source code may show ways to get around other BiDi issues as well

I managed to get on-the-fly direction switch by enabling "Enhanced support for
languages written from right-to-left" in the interface tab of qtconfig. Now
right
ctrl-shift switches direction to RTL and left ctrl-shift does the reverse (I
looked
for this for a while, never known it was their).
I think what remains now is the auto direction detection
