enframe()
currently takes only one argument, did you mean to extend it to support multiple arguments, as in
enframe(..., .name = NULL, .value = NULL, .id = NULL)
and optionally return a three-column data frame?

I don't think so. This issue is mainly about aligning the function arguments
from tibble.
But the .id
argument to bind_rows()
has different semantics -- it's about adding a column that contains the group ID. In enframe()
there's only one group, but we could indeed call the arguments .name
and .value
.

Hmmm, I think of it as adding a column that "identifies" the group, in the same way that you want to "identify" the observation here (and in both cases you taking the names of a vector and making an explicit column).
