I second this - Hitting a very particular issue with Typha as well. I'm running a very lightweight K3s cluster with 5 nodes and don't even see a proper way of configuring some of the Typha deployment. attributes.

There's no easy way to add further environment variables as per Calico reference suggests either.

Using typha on smaller clusters works just fine and using it is suggested. That is why we don't provide a means to disable it with the operator.
The page you linked (https://github.com/projectcalico/typha#when-should-i-use-typha) to even has the following

We recommend always using Typha when you are using the Kubernetes API datastore.

@kitos9112 I would suggest creating a separate issue about needing to be able to configure the typha deployment, that is a separate issue, please specifically indicate what you are trying to do.

I'm going to close this issue as I don't see a use case for why we need to be able to disable Typha.
