It looks like in the ast helper plugin it doesn't recognize namespaced path in the path expression, and only matches strictly 'element'.

Another thing to note is that $ is only available with this addon, and namespacing isn't supported for helpers out of the box.

I'm not familiar with namespacing myself, so I'm very surprised every time I see folks using it. (and I don't know of any OSS projects using it?) 😅
