Yes, you can do it with the command line tool like this:

npx git-changelog-command-line -std --from-ref 4.12.4 --to-ref 4.12.5

Or with the jenkins-plugin:

 def changelogString = gitChangelog returnType: 'STRING',
  from: [type: 'REF', value: '4.12.4'],
  to: [type: 'REF', value: '4.12.5']

  println changelogString

I run git-changeLog in Jenkins Post-Build-Action
Where to place the

 def changelogString = gitChangelog returnType: 'STRING',
  from: [type: 'REF', value: '4.12.4'],
  to: [type: 'REF', value: '4.12.5']

  println changelogString

I also prefer no fixed version number in my Jenkins Job configuration.
From command line I am able to get the l tags like
Last tag :
git describe --abbrev=0
4.13.17
Previous tag :
git describe --abbrev=0 --tag 4.13.17^
4.13.16

But how to parse them to the git-changelog Jenkins job ?
