Eh, from my understanding fs-uae is 'strictly downstream'. It adds sanity to configuration, some input work, much better usability in linux and others, better whdload support, and little to nothing in core emulation afaict.

WinUAE can get most of the benefits from fs-uae by taking advantage of the openretro database, like it does.

That database actually pretty handy since most whdload archives don't extract correctly on native unix filesystems (not sure if it's a creation or extraction problem), so being able to (at the cost of extra slow scans) match a 'file' in the database to a correct path in the database created makes the games work with the config and not without on the filesystem passthrough.

I don't know if the same problems occur in windows but i wouldn't be surprised since windows is more restrictive of paths and filenames than unix, maybe that's the reason why this database isn't already supported in winuae.
