You have to define type as
define_type User.includes(:country, :badges, :projects) do
and define delete_from_index method described in readme

or does chewy automatically not (re-)add users which are inactive if I have defined this behaviour in the delete_from_index?-method?

would be enough

Thanks! Didn't see that point in the readme, thought this behaviour was automatically managed by adding the scopes to the index definition (like an automatic "delete_from_index?" checking if the given object is in the defined scope).
