Ideas:

  • check old vs new constraints = Looks similar

  • test minimal preprocessing of CostMatrix (no problem reduction) = No improvement

  • check how the percentage is computed at the final plotting = looks allright

  • could it be the nodes where carNodeID is equal to eventNodeID that are removed in intermediate results?

from response_time_minimization.

Problem happened in extracting the data from the PuLP solution.

  • When creating the dictionary with assigned events car_to_events_assignment the number of events per car and in total is correct.
  • However, when converting this dictionary into a dataframe and merging with CostMatrix_extended to get the coordinates, there were duplicates again that had to be removed. Added the following to the function before returning the car_to_events_df:
def create_car_to_events_df(...)
   # drop duplicates and keep first occurrence
   car_to_events_df = car_to_events_df.drop_duplicates(subset=['carNodeID', 'eventNodeID'], keep='first')
   return car_to_events_df

Also refactored much of the code doing data extracting data from PuLP solution to plotting of optimal solution.
