gcc built perl breaks illumos build

You might be able to find a way out of this based on what was done back when perl was in ON.

Is there a way to fix this, or should we just wait for the next code drop to illumos-joyent? It seems a bit weird to just close the issue without any note on what could/should be done in order to get around this.

It requires os support. So either build smartos with a fixed illumosextra, boot that and it should be able to build, or wait until the next build on Thursday

@Tenzer you can get around that by using an older version of SmartOS to build your zone.

You can also just copy /usr/perl5/5.12/lib/i86pc-solaris-64int/Config_heavy.pl in to your build zone (same location) from the source ( illumos-extra/perl/Config_heavy.pl ) after running setup-build-zone, you don't need to go through all the trouble of booting an old smartos.
