I think Joyent is no longer interested in maintaining this software after its acquisition by Samsung and downsizing from my little googling. https://docs.joyent.com/joyent-public-cloud-eol

There are a number of problems with this software. It barely solves the issue it was intended to solve, and does it very poorly. In addition it crashes frequently.
The state that it's in, it works well enough for the extremely narrow use case it's being used for, and there are other areas of Triton/Manta that need attention.
If there are any issues you'd like to fix we'll certainly evaluate the PRs.
