Does your docker compose support version “3.8” of the docker compose file syntax?

I know a little about Docker. And here I am giving the version details
Docker version 20.10.21, build 20.10.21-0ubuntu1~22.04.3
docker-compose version 1.29.2, build unknown
I am using Ubuntu VPS on Oracle Cloud .
Does these support as you mentioned above?.

Your versions support the 3.8 syntax. Do you run the docker compose build base-image command in the directory with the docker-compose.yml file?

If I understand your problem right, I think you are using docker-compose.
the guide is for docker.

For solving your problem use a dash in the commands ...
docker compose -> docker-compose

docker-compose build base-image
docker-compose up --build -d -t 0 && docker-compose logs --tail 100 -f
docker-compose stop -t 0
