We can do the same.

But even in the places where they invoke that ngx_alloc they check for NULL and propagate the error up https://github.com/nginx/nginx/blob/beaaeb9f9e642d1d153ee65569d99499eef624e9/src/http/modules/ngx_http_dav_module.c#L866
