I've made some changes to this format in the latest release (v0.12.0), if you could give it a try and see if it works. If you could provide a good size sample, that would help me to fix any other issues.

Looks like it's fixed in 0.12.0:

$ lnav -V
lnav 0.11.2
$ lnav -C sssd-sanatized.log
error:/home/csgrib/sssd-sanatized.log:no format found for file

$ ./src/lnav-0.12.0/lnav -V
lnav 0.12.0
$ ./src/lnav-0.12.0/lnav -C sssd-sanatized.log

I have at least one 450 line log file, but I need to sanitize more to send.

There's an --anonymize flag for the :write-view-to command that is supposed to replace identifiers in the log text. Maybe give that a try and see if it does the right thing.
