Because that's the address of the relocated instructions. You need to call the "trampoline" function, whose purpose it is to jump there.

Assuming you've taken care of that problem, then the only other reason for this would be if your detour function has the wrong calling convention (unimportant / meaningless in x64, but very important in x86). If you don't setup the stack correctly in your function, about the only thing you can do is jump to the target address and when you get there, the function you detoured is going to pop stuff off the stack that was never pushed. You're going to die horribly.

But ppOriginal is exactly that, it's described as: "[Out] A pointer to the trampoline function, which will be used to call the original target function"

But the function I hook with is an assembly function, where inside i execute the "call trampolinePointer". It always end up crashing though, so I must be calling it in a wrong way. And this is in x64.
