I think it would be more tidy to have all of the client's role information to be in one spot. So I agree with ThePlatinumGhost here. It's better for all players, new and old, because all of the necessary role information would be in the bottom left.

If I'm done with the vgui update, I can create an addon that does it. I really don't like having this in base TTT. If someone wants it, they can use the addon.

and I think this should be a default thing for TTT2 without addon but included on the base version

I don't like having it in base TTT because this would mean that everyone has his team twice in the HUD

I say this because at the top not everyone notices it and also you need to know what the icon corresponds to,
while in this method you can also put the team name and it would be a big advantage for new users that don't know what the icon means

I see your point, but I still don't like having it down there. Maybe you (or someone else) can convince me, but right now I'm against it

if the problem is the duplication of some hud the solution would be that you could let owner choose through a Server Cvar if the want on bottom-left like the concept or if the want on the top like default one

I think this is left to each HUD on its own, and i personally don't really like it cluttered in the bottom left corner and prefer how it is in the "pure_skin" (default TTT2) HUD.

In theory, yes. Bit doesn't it still have the same problem as the icon in the top has? And another problem: what should happen with the top icon?

The lack of name? Well there's no good way to add it without adding the aforementioned clutter (although I personally don't think it's that bad):

One potential problem this idea has is if the team icon has a color that contrasts poorly with the role icon. I guess that could be solved by making the team icon have the same color as the role icon (similar to the scoreboard)? At this point I'm just throwing ideas around honestly.

I have no strong feelings about what should be done with the top icon, but I definitely see the information in the bottom left as more important (because I see it as a "badge" or "ID card" that tells you who you are).

As I have already said, only if there is the option to have it, even with another addon I would be more than happy
