If you installed version 1.4.5 , then you just need to run: easygrid-setup after installing the plugin.
You don't need to do anything else - until you need further customizations.

I installed version 1.4.6 and ran the setup but it just adds few lines to the easygrid config file and those settings may be required for setting up security nothing related to data source.

This is the correct behavior, because the bulk of the config ( including the datasource related stuff ) is in a config file in the plugin itself, called: DefaultEasygridConfig.groovy.

yes, sorry, not sure may be I messed up. Thanks a lot. Easygrid is really easy. It is working perfectly as you said, but I tried with 1.4.5. Since I am starting out now, do you recommend to go with 1.4.6? I am using grails 2.3.6.

You can go with 1.4.5 for now. There's nothing major in 1.4.6.

I will release shortly a major update - 1.5.0 .
