Very good suggestions Matt. I certainly agree. When we first developed the typography panel, there was no developer API so I am definitely excited about that being available to us. The other issue there is generating an API key for each user. I'd rather not generate one single API key for all our theme and framework users as that could cause issues. What we may be able to do is provide a JSON feed from the UpThemes website that is updated from the API frequently that can be stored in a transient, like you suggested. I hate to host the data on our website, but honestly, I don't think we can ask every user to generate their own API key and paste in in their admin panel somewhere.

Yes, hosting it yourself seems like the way to go given the API key issue. Maybe filter the URL that it pulls from so that people who know what they're doing can supply their own API key and bypass your server?

We're abstracting the font functionality into a separate plugin that will no longer require the UpThemes Framework. Closing this issue out because of that.
