Can you work around this issue by doing the following in your test code?

<script src="node-uuid.js"></script>
<script>window.uuid = window.uuid || module.exports;</script>

I know it's a little ugly, but if the workaround fixes your problem I'd prefer to push back on the QUnit folks a bit first (see my comment at qunitjs/qunit#190 (comment)) and then wait to see if anyone else is having issues with this before complicating the detection logic being used.
