What version are you using? and are you using it in the browser or via node?

Both examples are working for me (output "ok"):

Node.JS

try {
  require('validator').check('ad>[email protected]').isEmail();
} catch (e) {
  console.log('ok');
}

Browser

<html><head>
<script type="text/javascript" src="validator-min.js"></script>
</head><body><script type="text/javascript">
try {
  check('ad>[email protected]').isEmail();
} catch (e) {
  console.log('ok');
}
</script></body></html>

from validator.js.

That was a few days ago, and now I cannot reproduce the bug ... so I'll assume I probably did something wrong ... Sorry for wasting your time.
