Can you attach ~/.config/variety/variety.log? What kind of image are you trying to delete - a local file you've added or a downloaded wallpaper? The latter might be https://bugs.launchpad.net/variety/+bug/1628817

I have the same issue, i choose delete to trash and the picture is still on the folder.

@toor69 The log file you attached doesn't seem show any logs related to the actual deletion. Can you try the following?
Stop varietyRemove the log fileStart variety againUse the "Delete to trash" option
Then, attach a fresh variety.log
Actually never mind, found the bug.
