Where did you find that win_execute is not available in 8.1?

By debugging why this plugin doesn't work on my Vim 8.1 installation. 🙂

I see. That means that #380 has introduced a dependency on version 8.2. I wasn't aware of that.
Are there any reasons people would not be able to use Vim 8.2 but only 8.1? E.g. what is the reason you can't upgrade your vim installation?

In my case it's because I'm using Debian oldstable (can't upgrade because of some other compatibility issues), which has vim v. 8.1. Similarly Ubuntu Focal LTS has vim v. 8.1 and is going to be supported until April 2025.
In my particular case I ended up removing the system installation of vim and replacing it with a pristine version 9+. But this is not always an option on multi-user systems.
