Hi, I will take a look at that soon, but please try to trim down your example.

First thoughts though, try executing anything in the @input event and check if it fires at all. If not, it's a problem of your events. You may also try calling $touch from the lifecycle hook and check if it does it's thing.

Seems like vue-material's md-input doesn't emit input event at all. It only uses v-model directly.

That's an issue on their side. There should be something like @input="$emit('input', $event) in the component's code. There is no way I know of that would mimic the input event directly without modifying the md-input directive, as you are technically not binding to the <input> DOM node, but a component instead.

Depends on your needs, but you might also watch the value of your model and call $dirty when the watcher fires. Unfortunately it's going to fire even if you change the input's value programatically, so you need to take care and $reset if needed.
