Project repository for exploring variational Bayesian inference methods for use in inference on soil biogeochemical model parameters conditional on synthetic data. The soil biogeochemical models used in this project were the conventional (CON) and Allison Wallenstein Bradford (AWB) models detailed in Allison et al., 2010. For the purposes of the project CON and AWB were converted to stochastic differential equation systems SCON and SAWB using a naive diagonalization of the drift vectors for the diffusion matrices.
