MySQL Error 1148 on MySQL 5.5.22 for several datasets

This is due to security concerns with LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE.

"If LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE is disabled, either in the server or the client, a client that attempts to issue such a statement receives the following error message:
ERROR 1148: The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version"

Apparently, LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE must be explicitly enabled. I'm wondering if there will be a parameter passed in the connection string that specifies that load data local infile is allowed. Either way, the attempt should fail gracefully and insert data row by row.
