@barnaclebarnes thanks for your comment. Rather than implementing the colour parsing in this lib, we just parse any options straight through to ChunkyPNG and let it handle it. This is the relevant source code so you can understand the difference it sees between 000000 and #000000. Looking at the parser it says @return [Integer] The determined colour value as RGBA integer. so I guess this is what your 000000 is being interpreted as:

I guess we could extend this a bit and actually allow an array of items too so users could take advantage of the other colour options available via ChunkyPNG. I've now created a PR for this #135

from rqrcode.
