Thanks for your feedback!

Currently, HokeyListener seems not to register Hotkeys without their modifiers even when set to Keys.None. That's the sole reason why registering individual keys such as the VolumeUp button fail. However from the next release (v1.3.0) onwards, this will be possible by default.

Expect this in the next release.
Estimated Release Date: Today or tomorrow (05-06-2020).

Yes I also got the error while registering a simple {P} keycode. I've dug a bit in the code and it seems like the Convert function from your HotkeySelector returns a null string when parsing. Which is then bubbled up until the the RegisterKey of your HotkeyCore class throws a throw new Exception("Please provide a valid hotkey.");.

While we are at it, I don't really get why (in the Convert function from your HotkeySelector class) the parsedHotkey is modified in that function if at the end it is ovewriten by parsedHotkey = this._modifiers.ToString() + " + " + this._hotkey.ToString(); at line 355 ?

Yes, I've considered that too when registering simple keycodes. Checkout the latest release.

On the Convert function, I've just done some small cleanup on unnecessary code from previous releases.
