That shouldn't be too hard to implement. Note that, the direction does depend on whether it's above or below zero (counting up or down). Either way, I'll have a look at how I can best implement this, I figure that if I implement this, maybe I should also consider looking at making the starting point of the circle variable.

For the animation direction.

I've discovered that if you set the background color to any color, then the foreground color to white, it gives the appearance of rotating anti-clockwise.

It's a little bit cheating but kind of works ;-)

Sorry, should have mentioned that the background width needs to be set quite small, and the circle width to be set quite wide

Setting the background to 1 should make it equal width to the foreground. But this can indeed be done for a similar effect
