I don't think that will be possible. The line I'm getting an error on in IE8 is where I try to get the 2D context for the canvas. In short, that's the part where it tries to make something it can draw on.
In short, IE8 does not support one of the most fundamental parts of TimeCircles.
IE8 however has such a small market share that I personally don't worry about it. It's a shame, but it can't be helped.

However still, there are a bunch of "old type" users using their IE8

There are, you're right. But some things can't be done. It becomes a trade off between either doing something that looks great and works for roughly 95% of the people, or you go for something that's very simple and works for everyone.
The most that could be done is a fallback to something that doesn't use the circles, but I personally don't have enough time to commit to that. I'd rather spend time for the 95% for who it works, than for those for who it doesn't. Sorry.

Sure, no worries, you have been very nice! Thanks

One additional question, if I just tries to add an extra line that just shows the countdown of time, add a code that enable this line to be only seen when user access the site with IE 8. Is it even possible.

The problem is that this error happens quite early on. It's possible to do something like that, but it would probably be more than one line. Still, I might have a look at this on sunday.

I'm also working on it to see if it can be done. Thanks

http://demos.pixelworkshop.fr/circular_countdown_cc/ check this site, it working perfect in all other browsers, in IE8 it only display numbers (dates)

It's a little bit a shame I can't have a look at what you did exactly, though it looks like you've made some additional changes also?

No, its not mine, its a responsive plugin i found in themeforest. my point is this site can be view as a cool countdown timer like what you did ealier in lot of browsers, like Chrome, FF, etc. However when in IE8, it displays only a line of Number (the countdown date).

Can you tell me where you saw it on Themeforest? I really like seeing where TimeCircles goes and what people do with it.

I could, but that only showed me the example, not the page of the plugin. I thought (because it looked so similar) that someone had modified TimeCircles, but it looks like that plugin was actually developed entirely independently-- quite cool since I'd not seen it before.
I like some of the features they offer! Thanks for the link.
I know it's possible to do a fallback to text only, I think it should be around five lines of code, though right now I don't have much time.

No problem.
BTW all those examples do look similiar with Timecircles, also check this one, http://www.jbmarket.net/demos/countdown/

Another "funny fact". I just make the plugin working in IE8 in my local machine, however, when I was trying to show it on my colleagues' PC through intranet, also in IE8, its not working at all.
