because with docker volumes I'm syncing only web folder

you should sync the root directory and instead update nginx root to /var/www/html/web

Thank you very much for your answer.

I updated nginx and php volumes inside docker-compose.yml:

volumes:
      - ./:/var/www/html:cached # User-guided caching

Also, I changed a NGINX Root:

NGINX_SERVER_ROOT: /var/www/html/web

Then, I'm including dotenv external library from outside the server root folder and initiate it inside wp-config.php file:

require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/../vendor/autoload.php');
$dotenv = new Dotenv\Dotenv(__DIR__.'/../');
$dotenv->load();

or like this:

require_once(realpath(__DIR__ . '/..') . '/vendor/autoload.php');
(new \Dotenv\Dotenv(__DIR__.'/../'))->load();

Everything is working correctly now, and I can use dotenv() function inside my wp-config.php file, even with PhpStorm that shows Dotenv as an undefined namespace.

Hi @solosik,

Actually, PhpStorm highlighting does not depend on autoloader includes. PhpStrom just need ./vendor dir and ./composer.json in the root (by default) of your PhpStrom project. Also you may try to Synchronize IDE settings with composer.json.
